Google Alerts allow you to specify search criteria whether its your company name, a competitor or industry keywords. Once set, each day (or your specified time-period) you will receive an email when anything new is posted on the web and matches your criteria within the top 20 search results. For example, enter your keyword or phrase, now every time there is a news release, web site mention etc. posted on the web, you will receive an email telling you about it.

Google Alerts are free and you can set as many as you like. To set an alert, go to www.google.com, click More, Even More, Alerts, now set your criteria and click Create Alert. You will receive an email with an activation link for security reasons. So be sure you activate your alerts.
