Why I follow… Paul Castain

I first connected with Paul several years back and have kept one eye on him ever since. Paul is a unique guy. He has a great sense of humor which is well portrayed in an engaging format by his online writings at his blog YourSalesPlaybook.com.

Paul Castain is a predominantly sales-focused individual, but with a twist. In a typical corporate setting it is common for the Sales team and Marketing team to be head to head with each other. We all know that it is better to work together than to compete with each other, as often is the case. I for one do not attempt to be a salesmen, rather I use the sales team to learn about the customer/client so I have a better understanding of how to market to them. That aside, Paul certainly bridges the gap between sales and marketing. Like I said, I’m not in sales and have no idea how good Paul is, but going by his 22,000+ members of his LinkedIn group and his 20,000+ followers combined on his two Twitter accounts for @paulcastain and @salesplaybookli, one would assume he knows what he is talking about, agreed?

As well as being a sales leader, Paul often has some interesting, practical tips on a marketing level, that probably speaks on a sales level better than I could. Most of these marketing tips come from a social media perspective, in particular, topics on LinkedIn etiquette etc, are often covered.

If you have any interest in sales or marketing, I recommended hacking into at least one Paul Castain’s online channels. You’ll be amused, engaged and might learn something.

Keep it up, Paul.
